Overview
The system has the facility to scan or log serial & batch info at the pack stage automatically when despatching an order.
A serial is usually unique to every unit of stock, whereas a batch code can be shared accross multiple units of stock.
You'll need to have barcode validation enabled for the client(s) for this to get logged correctly on order history.
Enabling Product For Serial / Batch Code Logging
You can do this function in bulk using the product CSV upload found in Products > Extras > Upload Product - then simply set the relevant fields to "Y"
To do manually - please navigate to Products > Overview > (search for product) > Edit - then Go to the Extra Details tab and enable either serial or batch code tracking (or both)
You can also automatically flag products in bulk using the Product Upload template found in Products > Extras
In order for the serial number scanning to be automatically switched on - you will need to make sure Barcode Verification is turned on for that client
Enabling Barcode Scanning For Client
Please navigate to Picking > Overview > Manage Barcode Verification Rules
Then create a rule for the client you want to enable it for, you can select rules based on channel and order value so only those types of orders require barcode scanning.
In my example below all orders of all values will require Barcode verification:
You will then need to make sure that a Barcode EAN or UPC value is stored for each product for that client - this information can be uploaded in bulk using the product upload feature in Products > Extras
Scanning Barcodes & Logging Serials / Batches
When navigated to Picking > Order Picking you will now need to scan or log the barcode number for each product on the order for that client.
After you have successfully scanned a barcode and a product has serial/batch flag - you will be required to scan or log this also:
The data is then stored on the order history:
Viewing Historical Order Data
If you are using batch / serial code tracking in conjunction with barcode verified picking - you will be able to view a full report of the data for a date range selected.
Navigate to Reports > Overview > Barcode Verification Report:
Then you can search for specific batch codes or serial numbers:
If you are not using barcode scanning to track serial numbers or batch codes - you can simply view the order history (Orders > Overview > (search for order) > View order > History tab) to view the relevant information:
