Offhand Location Type (quarantine offhand stock)

Overview

Offhand (quarentine) location types would typically be used as a temporary holding location until stock has been properly checked, inspected or counted in either goods in or returns processes.

When you book stock into an offhand location type on Mintsoft it will increase "offhand" stock level - this does not get included in any stock syncs sent to externally connected sales channels with inventory sync enabled and is not available to use for orders.

Then when the stock has been checked properly you can easily transfer it out of the location to a good location using the scanner or browser transfer process.

If the stock is not good enough to be picked then you can instead book the stock out off the unpickable location completely.

Add Offhand Location Type

Go to Warehouse > Extras > Location Types

Then add a new location type and toggle on Offhand:

Next you need to add locations to the offhand type - you can either create new locations or move existing locations to the new type.

Go to Warehouse > Manage Warehouses > Locations

Then either select the green option in top right to Add New Location or edit an existing locations by clicking Actions > Edit and then making sure to select the offhand location type you created earlier:

Moving Stock From Offhand

The only way to move stock from an offhand location is to perform an inventory transfer to an non-off hand location - either on the front end, or app:
